BY designing outdoor activities, fun souvenirs and encouraging words (oh, and documenting it all on social media)
THE IDEA
At Camp Vista, I wore many, many hats under the program direction role. This position could also be called head event coordinator, graphic designer, social media manager, staff leader, Zumba instructor and lifeguard (just to name a few).
Camp Vista’s summer program welcomes hundreds of campers per summer season, all of which I was responsible for entertaining and ensuring the safety of. The staff were also under my direction, where I ensured all staff understood their role and executed it well. I designed programs and themes, supplementing them with fun graphics, songs and discussion topics. I also designed all souvenirs such as apparel, travel mugs and stickers. And this was all documented on Instagram.
Whew! That’s a lot to take in (and execute at the same time), yet giving today’s screen-polluted youth the magic of childhood was a fulfilling lifetime experience.
